About This Frontier Needs Heroes:
Two years after their successful self-titled debut album, This Frontier Needs Heroes has been busy. They released a critically acclaimed album, The Future, in May, a new single called 2012 in December and are gearing up for a spring tour.

This Frontier Needs Heroes is the Alt-Folk duo Brad and Jessica Lauretti from Brooklyn, NY, their name inspired by the phrase scrawled on Woody Guthrie’s guitar during WWII: “This Machine Kills Fascists.” Listening to This Frontier Needs Heroes is like having Brad and Jessica play in your backyard while the sun comes up. With their powerful delivery and delicate harmonies, their music is full of idealistic lyrical stories of love, loss and longing for a better world.

About Simone White:
Beautiful, highly personal songs in deftly experimental settings — that voice amidst drones and washes, found sound and layered harmonies, a delicate weft of acoustic and electronic music-making.

LA-based singer-songwriter Simone White has worked with producers Fol Chen to deliver her most affecting and ambitious album yet: Silver Silver. In contrast to White’s folk/country-tinged 2007 debut, I Am The Man, and 2009’s quiet offering, Yakiimo, Silver Silver has White’s soft voice framed by complex arrangements: There are pulsing, speaker-rattling bass tones, delicately layered vocal harmonies, and exquisitely lush washes of sound. It is also the singer’s most personal record to date: “A lot of stuff happened during the production. Two deaths, a breakup, fell in love.”

The title track — a duet with Andrew Bird — is a knockout.
